New Safety Policies

For the safety of our guests and staff, we have temporarily modified some of our policies.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and know that as information changes, we might need to adjust. Our goal continues to be keeping you and your family safe and comfortable during your visit. Review and share these new policies with your travel companions prior to arriving and contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Before you arrive:

  • MONITOR YOUR HEALTH and if you or your traveling companions develop any of the following symptoms, we urge you to call your healthcare provider and postpone your stay.
  • Possible Symptoms Include:
    • Cough
    • New loss of smell or taste
    • Sore throat
    • Muscle pain
    • Chills
    • Fever
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Our staff will also be monitored for symptoms and have their temperature taken daily.
  • All employees, associates, and visiting contractors will be asked to wear face masks and wash their hands frequently. Our employees have received COVID-19 training and will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when appropriate. High contact surfaces in all areas will be cleaned regularly, and designated staff will monitor the public restrooms, pools, and fitness room.
  • Guest rooms will be quarantined for up to 72 hours between stays, or specially trained cleaners will use CDC approved electrostatic sprayers to disinfect the rooms. Our housekeepers have enhanced cleaning procedures using EPA approved cleaning products to make the room safe before you arrive. All linens, towels, and laundry will be washed in accordance with CDC guidelines.
  • If necessary, excess items like decorative pillows, throw blankets, and knick-knacks may have been removed from your unit to help maintain a clean environment.
  • Bedspreads will be removed from the beds and will only be available on request. Extra blankets and pillows will also be removed from the rooms except when requested.

When you arrive at the resort:

  • We ask that only one person from each reservation check in at a time, look for floor signs in the lobby which will help you maintain a 6 foot distance, and please have additional guests and family members remain outside or in the vehicle until you have received your room keys.
  • When you enter the resort, for the safety of those around you, we ask that you and your travel companions please wear a face mask and keep it on while in the lobby and hallways. We strongly encourage you to maintain safe social distancing of at least 6 feet from other guests and staff, even when outside and on the resort grounds.

During your stay:

  • If you or anyone in your party becomes unwell during your visit and is concerned that they may have been exposed to COVID 19, please call the local COVID Hotline at the Door County Medical Center 7 days a week between 8AM – 4:30PM at 920-746-3700 or After Hours call 1-877-746-0003

Please let us know if you and anyone of your travel companions have become ill so that our housekeeping staff take extra precautions after you leave.

  • Only Very Limited Light Housekeeping services will be available by appointment for extended stays (3 or more nights) and housekeeping staff will not enter your room while it is occupied. Linens and supplies may be replenished as requested, between 10am – 5pm. Please call the front desk for requests, rather than asking in person, and someone will deliver them to your room.
  • For the time being, our coffee area in the lobby has been converted into a hand washing station with a touchless faucet and towel dispenser. The local coffee shops are still open, and they need your patronage more than ever.
  • The pool and fitness areas will be open for your enjoyment. CDC guidelines recommend that we limit the number of people in these areas to allow for social distancing of 6 feet even while in the pool. This means that except for family groups, only 2 people can be in the whirlpool, and one person in the sauna at a time. We ask that you limit your use to no more than 30 minutes at a time when other guests are waiting. Please be patient and considerate of others. If this becomes problematic, we may ask guests to reserve their pool time. We will let you know if this has been implemented when you arrive.

Before you depart:

  • To help protect our housekeepers, we ask that you please do the following three things when it is time for you to check out –
    • Place any used kitchenware, glassware, and utensils in your dishwasher or into the sink if you do not have a dishwasher.
    • Strip the sheets and pillowcases off the bed(s) and place them along with any other dirty linen in the bathtub in the cloth laundry bag we have provided. If no cloth laundry bag is present, place the dirty linens into the bathtub.
    • Please take the garbage out and place into the outdoor receptacles nearest your unit.
  • Call the front desk and let us know that you are leaving. If you have a remaining balance it will be charged to the credit card on file unless you specify otherwise. To avoid extra charges, remember to leave ALL of the room keys which you signed for on the counter nearest the door and close the door securely when you depart.

After you leave:

  • Let us know how we did! We will send you an email survey asking you how you enjoyed your stay and ask you for suggestions for how we can improve.

On behalf of all our owners and employees, thank you for choosing the Baileys Harbor Yacht Club Resort for your stay in Door County. Thank you for helping us make this transition go smoothly. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. Nothing is more important to us than your and our employee’s safety. We’re all in this together.
